Clean

Inspired by my Grandmother. She preferred to air dry her sheets. I used watercolors because I wanted it to be more organic the sky and her skirt scanned so pale I enhanced the color in photoshop, does that make it mixed media, I don't know.
Btw, I studied the flute back then, I was awful.

Oh! I thought I caught a whiff of the fragrant soap powder just now! A beautiful illo I must say :) I love the colours and I bet the wind is actually dancing to the tune from your flute. I like this very very much.

I can almost hear those sheets flapping in the breeze! My mother always hanged her sheets out to dry, even in the winter, and she always ironed them! They always smelled and felt so wonderful. You defintely captured that fresh, clean look. I love this!

Sweet. sweet fragrance of sheeta on a line, bliss of pristine clean-love this-the design, with your grandmother dutifully and defiantly hanging out the laundry. Wonderful piece of work!

My grandmother was the same way. I love what you've done here...the sheets really look as though they're flappin' in the breeze. I love the softness of the sky, too. Hope you're staying cool in this 105 degree weather!!

Great idea. It brough back memories of my mother hanging the clean sheets out in the back yard. The smell was so much better once they went back on the beds - a beautiful clean smell.

This is a gorgeous composition! I love the way the eye is drawn to follow the line of the clotheslines - a bit like musical staves - down to the flautist. It has some of the billowing feel of a sailing ship, so you've captured the blowing sheets perfectly. The colours and media are just right!

I don't know why, but playing the flute makes me breathless, in a way that the saxophone never does (I'm a terrible flautist too)!
